Health Center opened in Concepcion |

Community health centers are an integral part of the nation’s health system, as they make primary health care accessible to residents in rural areas. Today a community in the Corozal District that had long awaited such a critical resource saw it come to reality. The inauguration of this health center is an important achievement for the residents of Concepcion. The project’s groundbreaking was held back in 2008 when the then Prime Minister Rt. Hon Said Musa toured the area.

GOB launches program to recognise Belizean diaspora |

The Government of Belize has launched a special program aimed at reconnecting the Belizean Diaspora with their homeland. The initiative, titled “Engaging the Belizean Diaspora in Belize's Renaissance and Renewal,” was approved by Cabinet on Tuesday and will consist of a special twelve-day period in which attention will be given to Belizeans living abroad. The period will be from September 10th to 21st. During this period, the Government will foster increased dialogue over the role Belizeans living abroad can play in the development of the nation. Among the event s planned are workshops and media programmes.
