Police investigate death threats in Belize City |

Information provided to the Police by the family of 17 year old Jordick Thompson, who was shot and killed on Wednesday night, indicates that perhaps the murder could have been prevented. According to the family, Thompson had received threatening text messages on his cell phone. The phone has been confiscated by the Police, in an attempt to track the suspect. Well, one man who similarly received threats didn’t wait long before going to the authorities, and it has probably saved his life. According to 19 year old Andre Coleman, a security officer of Belize City, he was inside his parked vehicle on Bachelor’s Avenue in the Caribbean Shores area when a vehicle parked behind him, and a brown complexion male person came out and went to him saying: “I will kill you, you have up to weekend.” Coleman was startled and drove away, but he realised that the same vehicle was following his. He said the vehicle moved beside his, and the male driver pointed a handgun at him. Fearing that the worst could happen, Coleman decided to go the Police Station to report the threat. The authorities are now investigating. |
