Last night we told you about the fatal road traffic accident which claimed the life of well-known Orange Walkeno and political affiliate, forty-one-year-old Nelson Ayuso. Ayuso as we reported, was seated at the passenger’s side of a blue sierra pickup driven at the time by building contractor, Imer Hernandez, when Hernandez reportedly lost control of the vehicle along miles 55 and 56 of the George Price Highway near the villages of Ontario and Blackman Eddy. The vehicle drove across a drain and crashed into a heap of rocks.
Ayuso sustained severe injuries and later succumbed to his injuries. Hernandez managed to escape with only minor cut wounds and is listed in a stable condition. That matter is now currently under investigation where a file is expected to be compiled says Deputy Head of the National Crime Investigations Branch, Hilberto Romero.
Hilberto Romero – Deputy Head, NCIB
“Investigation reveal that Imer Hernandez was driving the said vehicle and lost control and as a result he received injuries and along with him at the time was Nelson Ayuso who also received severe injuries and was taken to the hospital where he died shortly thereafter. Imer Hernandez is at the Belize Health Care Partners where is receiving treatment and investigation into the matter is ongoing and a file is put together.”
We understand that while Hernandez was undergoing medical treatment following the accident, he was unable to speak to authorities on the matter at the time but was expected to have done so throughout the course of today.
