72455587_2406179162929578_6637204543820005376_nOceana in Belize has issued a warning to residents of Corozal and Orange Walk that an imposter pretending to be their representative has been going around seeking funds from a number of businesses and misusing the organisation’s name.

The person has identified himself as “Kelvin” to a number of businesses in Orange Walk, and even wears an Oceana-marked shirt to carry out his misrepresentation. He is described as being in his mid 30s and being about 5 feet 8 inches tall.

Oceana issued a statement setting the record that they only have one Field Representative for Corozal and Orange Walk and that is Ryan Rivera. Ryan is the only person authorized to represent Oceana in any way in the Northern Districts.

Oceana advised business houses that if anyone else approaches them purporting to represent Oceana or attempting to solicit donations in Oceana’s name, to report that individual to the nearest police station.
