no_imageThe Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) today concluded the first phase of a three-day train-the-trainers workshop under a regional Sustainable Food Systems and Value chain Development Project. The training which sought to introduce participants to sustainable food systems and value chain development principles and process commenced on Monday, July 22nd, 2019 was facilitated by Ms. Bree Romuld, FAO Value Chain Development Expert.


The project, which is being funded by FAO, consists of two phases and six modules. The first phase covered theoretical and practical exercises on Systems Thinking for Agriculture, Operationalizing Food Systems, Economic Analysis of Priority Value Chain, Margin and Profit Analysis, Industry Analysis, Governance and Systematic Implementation to Strengthen priority on Value Chains.


The workshop had the participation of 18 institutions from both government and the private sector. The second phase is scheduled to commence in October 2019.
