On Tuesday’s newscast we reported on the vicious assault of French Tourist Gabriel Jaquet in the Village of Sarteneja in the Corozal District. As we previously reported the twenty-five-year-old student was viciously attacked and robbed on Monday afternoon while he slept in a hammock near the seaside in an area known as Cancuncito in Sarteneja.
He was later found bleeding profusely by residents who assisted in transporting him to receive medical attention. Jaquet was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City where he remains tonight. Information to our news room is that he is being treated for a cracked skull among other injuries and that his family is traveling from France to Belize at the moment.
Late this evening authorities issued an official report on the incident indicating that authorities are currently investigating the matter, however no one has been detained for the attack.
