noimageThere was a string of burglaries in Corozal Town over the past 24 hours.

We start with last night when residents in Hermelinda Layout had to respond to reports that a burglar had broken into a house in the neighborhood and was still inside the house.

Individuals gathered and restrained the burglar, tying him up until the Police authorities arrived.

That individual, who we understand is no stranger to the law, was detained and it is expected that he will be charged by tomorrow.

There was also a break-in at Horizon stationery house located on 7th Avenue which occurred around 3 o’clock this morning.

The two burglars, who were caught in action by video surveillance cameras, entered the store by chipping the wall and removing the steel frame and steel door.

Once inside, they rummaged through the store and stole a number of items including a laptop, DVD player and cell phone.

At one point, the burglars realized that they were being watched by the surveillance cameras so they disconnected several, but the recorder had already captured them and these are the images of two Hispanic men carrying out the assault.

One of them sports a tattoo of a skull on his left arm. Additional tattoos can be seen on his forearm.

If you know any of the individuals, you are asked to contact the Police Department.
