Today we also discussed this year’s PSE results and school performances with Principal Pech.

Mary Hill R.C. School, situated in San Andres Village in the Corozal District, has a proud record of producing among the top ten students in this exam, however, this year other schools made the list. The difference, this year, was one point, which denied two students at Mary Hill R.C., Dalisa Makhwani and Judiani Santoya, who topped the results for Corozal District, from making it among the top 25. Principal Pech shared the rest of the good news.

“We have a lot to celebrate and our school has always been sending our students for PSE and making sure that most of them if not all of them pass. This year we had the entire group making the fifty and above mark and we do have twenty four of them making the excellent mark which is half of the amount of students we sent meaning eighty and above out of those twenty four we have five in the ninety which was close to the top twenty five however, as a school we still in the top three nationally and so yes there is a lot of things to celebrate. Having a student in the top twenty five is just like the icing on the cake this year we did not had that icing but still had the cake that is fully robust and still operating to our school and still performing well, in the district we have six of our students in the top ten we have the top five spots and all of them in the nineties, well this year we had a perfect score in math by one of our students and we have seen a bit of decline in the Science which will be one of our intervention next year together with Language, however with all the subjects we manage to do well, we pass the passings stipulated by ministry so we are doing ok, excellent I would say. I would like to give thanks to two of our standard VI teachers Mr. Mario Mesh and Mrs. Elisa Aban for tier hard work that they place in Standard VI and I would like to thank all the supported parent that we had had through out the years and especially for the parents of these kids who have been supporting them throughout the time and so because of their effort I think we have seen excellent is out this year and all the years we have had before so and I thank all my staff because it is not only Standard VI working together with the entire school and the entire staff working together so I thank them.”

The top performing students will be recognized in a special ceremony in Belize City next week.
