Screen_Shot_2019-06-12_at_8.02.18_PMReports tonight indicate that twelve persons of Cuban nationality are currently detained here in Orange Walk Town for illegal entry into Belize.

Information indicates that just before five this morning, Orange Walk police were on mobile patrol in the area of San Antonio Village when a suspicious maroon van caught their attention. The van which was traveling at high speed in the direction of Santa Cruz Village was pursued by police authorities. CTV3 news understands that the driver of the van reportedly jumped out and escaped into nearby bushes. His passengers, nine adults, and three children were taken into custody along with the van which remains parked at the Orange Walk Police station.

All twelve individuals are expected to be taken to the Orange Walk Magistrates court on Thursday on immigration charges.
