He may be a senior citizen and grandfather at the age of 63, but Orlando Villanueva, a resident of San Antonio Village, in the Corozal District, found himself on the wrong side of the law on June 1st, when Police stopped him for failing to give way to traffic.
Villanueva was charged and on Monday he appeared in Court to answer to the charges of driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol beyond the prescribed limit, failure to give way to motor traffic and causing the risk of an accident.
Villanueva accepted fault and pleaded guilty to all the charges.
The Magistrate fined him $350 plus $5 for the driving under the influence charge, $25 plus $5 for the failure to yield and $25 plus $5 for the causing the risk of an accident charge - a total of $415.
He must pay the fines by August 3 or face the risk of imprisonment. Before leaving the Court, Villanueva promised to pay the fines and never again to drink and drive.
