no-imageCorozal Town resident Allen Gilharry was charged yesterday morning for the crime of unlawful sexual intercourse, on allegations that on April 26 he had sexual intercourse with a 14 year old minor at the Ricalde Stadium.

Gilharry pleaded not guilty to the charge.

When asked by the Magistrate whether there were special reasons to be granted bail, Gilharry explained that he had a 3 year old daughter to provide for and that he was the sole bread winner for his family.

The prosecution objected to any bail being granted because of the alleged victim’s age.

The Magistrate agreed with the prosecution and bail was denied. Gilharry was remanded to the Hattieville Correctional Facility and will return to Court on June 26th.
