50870628_381477515750088_5300676223851036672_nA Belize City woman is facing the long arm of the law after officers of the Special Branch Unit and Crimes Investigation Branch attached to the Orange Walk Police Formation conducted a search on the bus she was travelling in this morning and found several rounds of ammunition in a knapsack she was carrying. Reports to CTV3 News indicate that acting on information received the cops intercepted a Tillett’s bus which was travelling from Corozal to Orange Walk between miles 55 and 56 on the Philip Goldson Highway near the Bypass.

 

Searches were conducted an inside a black knapsack being carried by the 30 year old woman from Hattieville Village in the Belize District police found a rectangular parcel with transparent wrappings containing 5 boxes. Inside each of those boxes police found (50) 9mm Luger S and B 17 live rounds of ammunition. If you do the math she woman was carrying a total of 250 rounds. The female was detained and escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station pending charges of kept ammunition without a gun license. Since she has not been charged we are unable to release her name.
