Screen_Shot_2018-09-06_at_8.07.09_PMThis afternoon a special graduation ceremony was held for 224 cane farmers who participated in the Sugar Industry Research and Development Institute’s “Farmer Field School” programme. If you’re wondering how school and cane field go together, well SIRDI has developed a programme where cane farmers can sign up for courses that teach best practices on the cane field. The objective of the programme is to create a sustainable sugar industry in northern Belize.
