The search for San Narciso businessman Omero Campos has intensified with authorities extending their search on land to the Rio Hondo border area. The Police’s patrol of San Narciso and nearby San Victor Village, has been reinforced with the involvement of the Coast Guard who is carrying out close inspections along the river. As we have reported, there is a possibility Campos is being held across the border or along the border area in Belize. Today the Police gave more details about the efforts to find the businessman who is now missing for eleven days.

“Sir, I believe several days after missing the family got a call and then an email has been circulated about a ransom request, is police looking into this and what kind of update do you have?”

Alejandro Cowo, Inspector

“Well, as I was made aware it was the media that this email was sent and I was only told about it yesterday, nonetheless we had had communication with one of the media houses that had received the email and we are working with them and that we have traced the origin of the email, however that is way abroad and the email address that is being used is one that it cannot be trace, we have downloaded some information in regards to that and that is one of the most secure email that we have at this moment.”

“Sir, when we last spoke to police they had indicated that on Tuesday they had received a call from Mr. Campos which meant that he was alive, have you guys have any interaction tht he is alive?”

Alejandro Cowo, Inspector

“Well that was the last time that the family member spoke to him and they were assured that he was alive, that was last week Tuesday and up to now the family have not received any other calls or other indications that he is still alive.”

Inspector Cowo confirmed our report that since Tuesday June 19th, the alleged kidnappers have not communicated with the family, to make any more ransom demands.

But what about the email correspondence sent to two media houses in Belize, claiming that it came from Campos’ kidnappers and demanding 20 bitcoins or over a quarter million Belize dollars for his safe return? The Police have gotten wind of the purported new ransom demand, but they say the email was traced all the way to Switzerland.

With those indications, the email claim may be a twisted scam by opportunists as strongly suspected.

Campos went missing on Sunday June 17th, after going to his farm, located three miles out of San Narciso Village, along the San Victor Road.
