A Belizean woman was killed on Sunday in Tacoma, Washington, United States after her husband reportedly shot her dead, before turning the gun on himself.
35 year old Rushan Tucker, who is a University of Belize graduate, was married to 49 year old Malcom Tucker with whom she had a daughter and was raising a stepdaughter. The relationship had gone sour however and Roshan had shared with family members that she planned to separate.
But on Sunday June 24, tragedy struck when Malcom took the children, ages 8 and 19, out for breakfast at a coffee shop, and left them there. Before leaving, he told them that he would return after getting groceries. After not returning for over an hour, the elder daughter began texting her dad. He responded, but his messages were cryptic and stated that he and mom are gone.
Instead of going grocery shopping, Malcom left to his apartment where he confronted Roshan and shot her in the head. Malcom then turned the weapon on himself and also shot himself in the head.
The children called 911 after receiving the cryptic messages and were picked up by the Police, and taken to their home where authorities discovered the bloody scene and lifeless bodies. The 8 year old child has since been placed in child care until authorities can find family members who can care for her.
