Screen_Shot_2018-01-08_at_8.03.23_PMIf you visited the gas station over the weekend you might have noticed that there were some changes in the price for fuel at the pumps. On Friday, just five days into the New Year, the Belize Bureau of standards announced the new price changes which saw major increase to both Diesel and Premium gasoline.

Here in Orange Walk while the price for Regular gasoline saw a twenty-two-cent decrease going from ten dollars and forty-seven cents to ten-dollars and twenty-five-cents, premium gas increases by seventeen cents from eleven dollars and fourteen cents to eleven dollars and thirty-one cents. Meanwhile diesel goes over the ten-dollar mark and will now retail at ten dollars and eight cents per gallon, an increase of fifty-one cents.

While the bureau’s announcement which was made on Friday January 5th noted an increase of thirty-seven cents for kerosene, we must point out that it was an error and kerosene today remains unchanged at five dollars and ninety-seven cents.
