Screen_Shot_2017-04-11_at_7.53.26_PMThree men were injured in a head-on collision that occurred on Monday night at mile 79 on the Phillip Goldson Highway. We were at the scene shortly after the incident took place. We advise viewers that some of the images may be graphic for children.

The images captured by amateur videographers show two badly damaged vehicles a few feet apart. On one side was a dark green in colour Toyota Tacoma pickup truck which was in the middle of the highway. Its front end was completely shattered and appeared compressed by heavy machinery. The other vehicle was a grey in colour Chrysler Town and Country Van which also had severe damages to the front.

Video footage shows the moments when the emergency response officials rescue the accident victims.

Edgar Wiltshire was driving his taxi van and suffered the worst of the impact, according to reports. The doors for his van had to be cut open in order to be taken out of the mangled wreckage and rushed to the Corozal hospital.

Wiltshire was later rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and lies in a coma, under life support. He also suffered a broken left leg. In the van at the time with Wiltshire was John Perez who suffered a broken left leg. Travelling in the pickup truck was Justin Goff, who suffered broken arms and legs. Police continue to investigate what might have caused the collision. According to reports, Goff was towing another vehicle when the incident took place.
