Corozal Police are also investigating a burglary that has left a 54 year old businessman out of more than $12,000 in cash and jewelry. Fernando Williams, a villager of Calcutta, told Police that yesterday between 9:00am and 11:45am his room situated on the second floor of a concrete building was burglarized. Stolen from the room was $10,000 in cash in both U.S and Belizean currencies and an assortment of gold jewelry including chains, earrings and bangles. The total value of the items stolen including the $10,000 amounted to a whopping $12,800. When Police visited the scene there was no sign of forced entry. While one person has been detained, Police are searching for another individual whom they believe can assist them in their investigation.
