A woman has been detained by the Orange Walk Police pending an investigation into her involvement in an attack on Orange Walk resident, Carlos Jimenez. Jimenez, who is better known in town as ‘Diablo’, is presently at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City being treated for severe burns he sustained to his body. Police have received no official report about the incident yet, but information to our newsroom indicates that Carlos Jimenez was at the Catt’s Place located on Lover’s Lane when the incident took place. Incidentally, that is the same location where Jimenez works and lives. What we know is that on Sunday there was a celebration at the establishment, when suddenly Jimenez and a woman only known as Zenaida secluded themselves from the crowd. Minutes later, Zenaida returned in a terrified state and asked for a taxi because Jimenez had been burnt. Jimenez was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital where he was then transported to the KHMH. Although the woman has been detained by police no charges have been brought against her as the matter is still under investigation and no medico form has been received. The family has no comment on what exactly occurred, and they say they don’t have a clue.
